In addition, start-ups presented themselves at the well-attended networking event for founders, start-ups and companies. Venture capital as a regional growth factor<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In his keynote speech, Nico Hemmann presented the new regional Venture Capital Fund VORNvc<\/a> the regional savings banks. He emphasised the importance of venture capital as a regional growth factor and driver of innovation. \u201eThe Sparkassen in the region around Dortmund are launching a VC fund with VORNvc, which not only finances technology-oriented start-ups but also gives them access to the SME sector. The fund is open to all sectors and focuses on companies with a financing requirement of over \u20ac0.5 million, and can invest up to \u20ac5 million per portfolio company,\u201c said Hemmann.<\/p>\n

innoclub: New network for <\/strong><\/span>Corporates, SMEs and start-ups<\/strong><\/p>\n

The new innoclub based in the <\/span>TechnologyCentreDortmund presented Andrea Schubert:<\/span> \"The innoclub is an exclusive network to strengthen innovation in Dortmund and the Westphalian Ruhr region: connect. inspire. accelerate. This is where SMEs and corporates meet a curated selection of excellent start-ups to inspire each other and share experiences, knowledge, skills and resources.\"\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The innoclub is a project of the Dortmund Chamber of Industry and Commerce, which is supported by the local sponsors Wirtschaftsf\u00f6rderung Dortmund, TU Dortmund University, Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts and the International School of Management Dortmund. Dortmund-based start-up SLAPStack: Innovative <\/strong><\/span>Floor block bearing<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Dr Anna Dieckh\u00f6fer showed how innovations from Dortmund are successfully introduced to the market. She is co-founder of the Dortmund start-ups <\/span>SLAPStack<\/a>, which belongs to the \u201einnoclub Fellows\u201c. \u201eSLAPStack is a revolutionary AI-based operating system for block storage warehouses that integrates all necessary software components such as guide control, warehouse management, and simulation into one solution. This enables optimised order processing for driverless and manually controlled forklifts. The easily implementable, efficient, and adaptive storage system allows for significant cost savings,\u201c explained Dr Anna Dieckh\u00f6fer.<\/p>\n

The 3rd Wednesday is a series of events organised by the TZDO. The next 3rd Wednesday will take place on 19 March 2025 at e-port Dortmund in the Digitalhafen Dortmund, Mallinckrodtstra\u00dfe 320, 44147 Dortmund.
