Ransomware attack paralyses all systems

Our discussion centres on a real cyberattack in which the Bellendorf car dealership in Bottrop was the victim of a ransomware attack. The attackers paralysed all systems, encrypted data and demanded a high ransom. Customer data, appointments and workshop functions were no longer available.

Tobias Bellendorf, Managing Director Car dealership Bellendorf GmbHand Christian Hoffmeister, Chief Information Officer GREEN IT Das Systemhaus GmbHreport on the incident, how to deal with the crisis and show how companies can prepare for such cases.

Recognising cyberattacks early and taking action

Ralf Sturhan, Managing Director, explains what went wrong in all successful cyber attacks Cybersense GmbH. And this is not necessarily the fact that an attacker has succeeded in penetrating your IT - despite all your defences. Unfortunately, this can never be ruled out 100 per cent. The weak point in successful attacks is more likely to be that the intrusion was noticed too late or not at all. It is precisely in this area that many companies can still make great progress with simple means.
