How the handling of data is transforming one of Germany's most important industries and what opportunities arise from this for young technology companies

The automotive industry is in the midst of profound change. Digitalisation, new data-driven business models, increasing demands for transparency and sustainability, and increasingly connected value chains are transforming collaboration between manufacturers, suppliers and technology partners.

Data spaces play a central role in this: they enable companies to securely and sovereignly share and jointly use data across company boundaries. But how does that work in practice? What concrete added value do data spaces offer companies? And what is needed to turn technological possibilities into genuinely functioning applications and new business models?

At this year's Business Breakfast of the TechnologieZentrumDortmund, we would like to discuss these questions together with experts from business, research and technology. Exchange instead of a lecture. The focus will be on a concise keynote and a moderated panel discussion. The aim is not only to look at technical solutions, but in particular at practical experience: What is already working? Where do obstacles still lie? And what opportunities arise from digitalisation for companies and Dortmund as a business location?
