The Innovation Award of the German BioRegions recognises outstanding, application-oriented developments with high market and implementation potential.

What is honoured?

The Innovation Award honours ideas that:

  • are patented or are in the process of being patented,
  • have a clear application reference,
  • have a strong market potential and
  • can make a relevant contribution to the economy and society.

Who can apply?

  • Scientists from universities and non-university research institutions
  • Legal entities under public law (e.g. universities, universities of applied sciences, patent exploitation agencies)
  • Founders of young companies that have not yet achieved any relevant turnover and have not sold any significant shares in the company to external investors
