From PHOENIX West to construction sites worldwide: Jaeger Group invests in Valoon

The Jaeger Group invested in Valoon and thus into a Dortmund start-up that picks up where digitalisation in the construction industry often proves most difficult: directly on the construction site.

For us as TechnologyCentreDortmund (TZDO) is this development particularly exciting, because Valoon is in Centre for Production Technology Dortmund (ZfP) on PHOENIX West at home. In an environment that stands for exactly these kinds of stories: young technology companies, industrial application and strong partners from practice.

Valoon Develops software that simplifies communication, coordination, and documentation on construction sites. The crucial point: the solution doesn't try to completely reinvent the daily work on the construction site. It starts where communication is already happening. And that's „very simply“ via familiar messenger services like WhatsApp or Microsoft Teams.

That is precisely where the strength of the approach lies. Digital solutions are not adopted because they are technically particularly complex, but because they work in everyday life. On the construction site, this means: low barriers, clear processes, simple use and real added value for the people who work with them daily. Or, in other words: software must convince not only in the office, but also out on the construction site.

That Valoon today already on Over 3,000 construction sites worldwide shows how great the need for pragmatic digital solutions in the construction industry is.

With Marvin Rosian As managing director, Valoon represents a new generation of ConstructionTech companies: emerging from close collaboration with research, built with a drive for technology, and at the same time, very close to the industry's real-world challenges. Valoon was founded as a spin-off from the Fraunhofer ISST and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) founded and has since then from the Dortmund Non-destructive testing developed dynamically.

The participation of the Jaeger Group This is therefore a strong signal. Here, a young start-up meets a Dortmund family business that has shaped the construction industry for generations. The Jaeger Group has been active in the construction industry for five generations and currently has over 2,600 employees at more than 50 locations.

For the Dortmund location, this is a strong example of how innovation works in interaction: start-ups develop solutions, established companies open up markets and application fields, and places like the Non-destructive testing in the TZDO create the right environment for growth, exchange and transfer.

Congratulations Marvin Rosian and the entire Valoon Team heartfelt congratulations on this important milestone. And we are delighted that this success story from Zentrum für Produktionstechnologie Dortmund Her takes the journey further.
